The Operation Henry Trust
The Pancreatic Cancer Charity
The Operation Henry Trust uniquely is the foremost Charity in this country leading the way in Patient Care, not clinical, that is left to the wonderful work of the Macmillan Nurses, nor through research, ably resourced by the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, but by personal contact through the referral of the attending oncology nurse, surgeon or G.P.providing 'special time' or the taking over of unaffordable associated burdens that come with the condition for those who have few months to live.
40 years ago in 1970, 3% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survived five years or more, today that figure has not changed!
With great strides taken by the Secretary of State for Health encouraging the N.H.S. to improve survival rates of all other major cancer types-Testicular, breast, prostate, bladder, colon, ovarian and Hodgkin's disease, pancreatic cancer remains the least important attracting little attention, yet it is the greatest killer in the U.K. compared with every other country in Europe.
